Interfaith Peace Convergence and Fellowship

March to May 2026 | North Central Nigeria + National Assembly Library, Abuja

Funded by the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund (NYFF), a LEAP Africa initiative, RID Nigeria ran a six-week Interfaith Peacebuilding Fellowship for 40 carefully selected young Christian and Muslim community leaders from Benue, Plateau, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Kaduna States, and the FCT. Fellows were trained in conflict analysis, mediation, nonviolent communication, and community peace project design. The phase concluded with the National Interfaith Peace Convergence on May 25, 2026, at the National Assembly Library, Abuja, where the Speaker of the House of Representatives delivered the keynote address, 40 fellows were publicly commissioned as Peace Ambassadors, and over 80 registered participants including lawmakers, faith leaders, and policymakers engaged in strategic dialogue on faith-based violence and interfaith cooperation. Phase 2, focused on implementing the 35 community peace projects developed by fellows, is now underway.
