CSIAID Constantine Grant
CSIAID, as the first of our many grants, is launching with a N20 million grant specifically aimed at faith-based initiative undertaking or able to undertake innovative peacebuilding projects to counter the ongoing persecution and killing of Christians in Northern Nigeria.
This region has witnessed a surge in targeted violence against Christians, with thousands killed, injured, and displaced.
In recent years, according to Open Doors and other international organizations, Nigeria has accounted for a staggering 89% of Christian deaths due to persecution worldwide. More than 3,000 Nigerian Christians were killed last year alone, and tens of thousands remain displaced, their communities and livelihoods destroyed (Open Doors World Watch List).
This inaugural grant will prioritize projects centered around peaceful and communal coexistence, and that defend and uphold the rights, dignity, and safety of Christian communities under threat.
We invite organizations (especially Christian faith-based organizations) across Nigeria to apply as the CSIAID’s Constantine Grant application process officially opens today.
We seek to provide not just funding, but also collaboration, technical support, networking, and capacity building.
